A new vision of Venice
Venice, cradle of the art of perfumery, a city awash in splendor and mystery, port of arrival for perfumes from the East, a hub for the trade in rare wood, spices, silk, glassware, jewelry, cosmetics and perfumes.
Storie Veneziane, a name to conjure up diminutive bottles adorned with colorful translucent masks. A tribute to Murano glass : in the 13th century, motivated by safety and secrecy, the kilns used to fire the glass were installed on the islet of Murano.
Craftsmen disseminated their art throughout the world thanks to the exceptional materials found in the lagoon, such as the singularly fine sand that gives the glass its transparency. Murano glasswork became famous all over Europe thanks to the sodic glass used together with seaweed ash. In the 15th century, the art of glassmaking reached its apex in Venice.
An authentic connoisseur experience, an ode to the lagoon’s varied realms of virtuosity. The art of perfumery extolled, Murano glass placed on a pedestal and Italian leather in all its beguiling glory : carnal, savage and sensual.
